About us

Mak Kennel is a selective kennel dedicated to the preservation of the magnificent breed of St.Bernards in Bengaluru, in the southern part of India. Our efforts have led us to acquiring some of the best bloodlines from across the world, which are now part and pride of the Mak family. We focus on breeding the best St.Bernards in India that stay true to their type and to the breeds exacting standards. Our saints have proven their mettle at show rings across India and at the same time made excellent companions to friends who share the same passion as us.

We are passionate about dogs. Through the years we have had many pets who have been loyal companions and faithful friends. Our love for dogs made us want to know and see more of them, which brought us one day to the magnificent sight of a giant St.Bernard – a massively built dog with surprisingly gentle features. As with all dog lovers, with us too, it was love at first sight. The Saints had stolen our hearts. And we knew from that moment on, that this would become a growing friendship for life. Over the past few years, we have grown and continued to learn about this beautiful breed through research, advice from breed experts, and senior veterinarians. And the more we learn about this breed, the more it drives us to doing our bit to ensure that the breed improves and flourishes in the years to come.

Our love for the giants is not limited to just St.Bernards. We also pride ourselves in our Newfoundlands - another beautiful giant breed with whom the St.Bernard shares some of its early history. We share a unique relationship with each of our dogs and we ensure that each of them feel special at all times. And we ensure that each puppy that leaves our kennel for a new home, receives just the same or even better care. Because, we firmly believe that there is no greater companion than a dog. And its their faithfulness that makes special. Our dogs will forever remain our friends and we will remain committed to their protection in every way we can.

At Mak Kennel, we believe in breeding with a purpose. Our limited breeding program is done after extensive research in consultation with breed experts from across the world, expert veterinarians and our own experience from the past. Our efforts focus on eliminating all possible predispositions to diseases and disorders that form the weakness in the breed. A carefully planned approach has helped us maintain and improve the quality of our St. Bernards.

Our Saints have performed exceedingly well in the ultimate test ground - the show ring, by winning many prestigious laurels in shows organised by the FCI (Fédération Cynologique Internationale) and the KCI (Kennel Club of India). Our dogs have won appreciation by from the best of judges from India and across the world. We also see shows as a good platform for us to inspire dog lovers and promote good ownership habits. The biggest joy for us is to spread smiles amongst all whom we meet through our dogs.
